Fudge is one of the more popular holiday 'homemade' gifts to give, next to cookies of course. However by the looks of it, fudge seemed all too complicated to even try to make. Turns out I was way wrong, especially after finding this amazing simple recipe that takes close to no time to make (before the letting it "set"). Enjoy.
Ingredients
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions -
Line a 9x5 loaf pan with wax paper and set aside for later use ( I doubled the recipe and used a 9x13).
Next combine the sugar, butter, marshmallows and cream in saucepan, setting over medium heat. Stir until marshmallows and butter is almost melted, about 5 mins.
Next, bring mixture to boil stirring occasionally (about 5 mins). Remove pan from heat then add chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until melted and combined, if you'd like add 1/2 cup of add-ins such as peppermints, walnuts or candies.
Pour the hot fudge into loaf pan.
Top with remaining "Add-Ins" and let set for 3 hours at room temperature.
Grip wax paper and lift out of pan, placing on a cutting board to slice.
Enjoy!
